Teacher - Residential Treatment Program

Full-Time | Non-Exempt | 

Starting Pay: $21.00 per hour

The Teacher for the Residential Treatment Programs is responsible for coordinating and delivering all academic and classroom services for youth receiving treatment at The Grove, IMPOWER’s Level II Residential Substance Use Treatment Program serving adolescents ages 13–17. The Teacher ensures educational continuity by supporting individualized learning plans and coordinating appropriate academic enrollment, monitoring academic progress, and maintaining appropriate documentation in client records. The position also participates as an active member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, contributing to treatment planning, progress reviews, and behavioral support strategies to promote both academic success and therapeutic outcomes.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Work collaboratively with clinical team to develop individualized educational activities and goals for all individuals served
  • Enrolls clients in Florida Virtual School and maintains open and effective communication with students’ FLVS teachers 
  • Coordinates GED prep and/or post-secondary assignments as appropriate
  • Actively monitors and assesses student achievement and progress based on short-term and long-term goals and objectives for both general education students and students with Individualized Education Plans (IEP)
  • May assist with tutoring or facilitation of selected curriculum aligned with the requirements of program participants
  • Communicates regularly with families regarding the academic performance and behavior of students
  • Prepares and publishes weekly progress reports on each student; documents as needed in the client record
  • Provides academic summary and information upon client discharge
     

 Education & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field from an accredited college or university. Teacher certification required.
  • Ability to pass a Level II background screening (AHCA Clearinghouse + Local Law Check)
  • Experience in residential or community mental health setting or working with at-risk youth preferred.
  • Negative result from a multi panel drug screen

  •  Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
