Job Summary: At Access Labs, we are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll & Benefits Administrator who can manage full-cycle payroll and employee benefits with minimal oversight. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll, administering benefits programs, maintaining compliance, and supporting HR operations from day one.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute full-cycle payroll for all employees, including regular pay, overtime, bonuses, deductions, garnishments, and off-cycle adjustments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, PTO, and other perks. Partner with carriers, retirement plan providers, and other third-party vendors to resolve issues, manage renewals, and ensure accurate enrollment and deductions.
  • Maintain and audit HRIS and payroll system data, ensuring employee records, payroll inputs, and benefits elections are accurate, up to date, and compliant. Recommend system improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Generate, review, and analyze payroll and benefits reports for leadership, identifying trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement. Provide actionable insights to support decision-making.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll and benefits inquiries. Provide clear guidance, resolve discrepancies professionally, and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Lead or assist with internal and external audits related to payroll and benefits. Ensure documentation and processes meet compliance standards and support any review requests.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline payroll and benefits processes, implement best practices, and recommend system or workflow enhancements that improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support special projects as needed, including payroll system implementations, benefits program launches, HR initiatives, and cross-functional collaborations to improve HR operations.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 5+ years of payroll and benefits administration experience, preferably in a mid- to large-sized organization.
  • Comfortable handling multi-state payroll and benefits programs.
  • Experienced in processing payroll for 400+ employees, both exempt and non-exempt.
  • Proficient with payroll and HRIS systems (Paychex preferred).
  • Knowledgeable about payroll laws, tax filings, garnishments, and benefits compliance.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar payroll certification preferred.
  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or equivalent benefits credential preferred.
  • Experience with Paychex reporting and payroll analytics.
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Confident in communicating with employees, managers, and leadership.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple priorities independently.
