Role Summary

We are seeking an Anaplan Senior Developer Lead with 8+ years of experience designing and delivering enterprise-grade planning solutions. The ideal candidate holds an Anaplan Architect certification and has deep domain expertise across Workforce Planning, Capex Planning, P&L, and Balance Sheet models. This role blends hands-on model building with technical leadership, including solution architecture, performance optimization, governance, mentoring developers, and partnering with Finance stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable Anaplan solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Delivery

  • Own end-to-end design and delivery of Anaplan solutions across Workforce, Capex, P&L, and Balance Sheet planning domains.
  • Lead model architecture decisions: modularization, data hub strategy, spoke models, integration patterns, and model lifecycle management.
  • Translate complex business requirements into robust Anaplan user stories, model designs, and implementation roadmaps.
  • Drive design reviews, establish best practices, and ensure solutions align to Anaplan platform standards and internal governance.

Hands-On Model Development (Lead-Level)

  • Build and maintain Anaplan models: modules, lists, hierarchies, line items, versions, time ranges, and calculation logic.
  • Implement advanced modeling techniques:
    • Dimensionality optimization, formula efficiency, and performance tuning
    • Model refactoring and sparsity reduction
    • UX design: pages, worksheets, forms, actions, and navigation
  • Create scalable and auditable planning workflows for:
    • Workforce: headcount, hiring plans, merit/bonus, attrition, benefits, allocations
    • Capex: project-based forecasting, depreciation schedules, funding/approvals, roll-forwards
    • P&L: revenue, COGS, opex (cost centers), allocations, scenario planning
    • Balance Sheet: drivers, working capital, accruals, roll-forwards, cash impacts

Integration, Data & Automation

  • Design and deliver integrations using Anaplan Connect, CloudWorks, APIs, and ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Boomi, MuleSoft, ADF, SnapLogic—depending on environment).
  • Establish data pipelines with source systems such as ERP (SAP/Oracle), HRIS (Workday), GL, CRM, and data warehouses.
  • Implement robust data validation, reconciliation, and error handling for financial accuracy and audit readiness.

Leadership, Governance & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as technical lead for Anaplan development team: code reviews, mentoring, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Accounting, HR, IT, and Data teams to align on planning processes and governance.
  • Own platform governance: model standards, naming conventions, release management, documentation, and security design.
  • Support user adoption: training, enablement, and continuous improvement backlog management.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience delivering Anaplan implementations in enterprise environments.
  • Anaplan Architect Certification (Solution Architect strongly preferred; equivalent architect-level credential accepted).
  • Proven experience building solutions across:
    • Workforce Planning
    • Capex Planning
    • P&L Planning
    • Balance Sheet Planning
  • Strong command of Anaplan modeling best practices: DISCO, model performance optimization, and scalable architecture.
  • Extensive experience with UX design, access control, actions/processes, and workflow enablement.
  • Strong integration experience using APIs / Anaplan Connect / CloudWorks / ETL.
  • Ability to lead technical discussions, influence stakeholders, and guide decisions through tradeoffs (performance vs flexibility, usability vs complexity).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing connected planning across Finance + HR + Operations (multi-model ecosystems).
  • Exposure to ALM, CI/CD practices for Anaplan, and structured release management.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting concepts (GAAP/IFRS helpful), chart of accounts, cost center hierarchies.
  • Experience with adjacent EPM tools or reporting layers (Power BI, Tableau, Adaptive, Hyperion, SAP BPC, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to define operating procedures for model governance, security, and audit readiness.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Advanced Anaplan model-building, architecture, and performance tuning
  • Financial planning domain strength (Workforce, Capex, P&L, Balance Sheet)
  • Integration architecture and data management
  • Stakeholder communication and requirements translation
  • Technical leadership, mentoring, and delivery management
  • Strong documentation discipline and process orientatio
