About the Role:

The Senior Accountant in our  company based in Jacksonville, plays a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the financial health of the organization. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and supporting strategic financial planning. The Senior Accountant will lead month-end and year-end closing processes, analyze financial data to identify trends and variances, and provide actionable insights to management. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize financial operations and support budgeting and forecasting activities is essential. Ultimately, this role ensures the integrity and transparency of financial information, enabling informed decision-making and contributing to the company’s sustained growth.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the retail industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, macros, and complex formulas.
  • Experience in financial modeling and data analysis.
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Manage the general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business objectives.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline accounting processes and improve financial controls.
  • Monitor accounts payable and receivable to maintain accurate cash flow management.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in accounting procedures.

The Senior Accountant utilizes strong analytical and organizational skills daily to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance. Proficiency in accounting software and Excel enables efficient management of complex data and financial models.
