Information Technology Intern (Architecture and Integration Services) – Summer 2026

What You’ll Do:

  • Work closely with tenured developers to develop skills required for career in Information Technology
  • Gain real world experience related to project work, production support, and technical requirements
  • Explore different areas of Information Technology by participating in divisional activities
  • Learn about Farm Bureau Financial Services and the insurance industry by participating in organizational events
  • Learn about agile methodology by participating in daily stand ups, sprint planning, grooming and retros
  • Develop an understanding of the importance of technical architecture, enablement, change management, and technology governance

Our internship program holds an 80/10/10 approach, meaning that 80% of your work time will involve performing tasks or work on projects within your hired work area. Another 10% of the time, you will be exposed to learning in other areas within your assigned division to get more corporate experience. Then, the final 10% will be spent in shared experiences across the organization, where you will get to really learn about our culture and work environment.

What It Takes to Join Our Team:

  • Be a college student pursuing a Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science degree.
  • Completion of coding courses such as Java is preferred.
  • A quick learner who is looking to learn new concepts and ideas.
  • Must have strong verbal & written communication skills and be a team player.
  • Must possess good problem-solving skills.
  • Must be a self-starter, take initiative and be highly motivated.
  • Be dependable and able to work a 38-hour work week during summer 2026.
  • To maximize the value of this internship, the ideal candidate will be eager to think strategically about big-picture opportunities to bring business value through technology. Some experience with creating software diagrams would be a plus.
