Human Resources Intern (Part-Time Seasonal)

Position Summary

The Human Resources Intern (Part-Time Seasonal) provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources Department while gaining hands-on experience in various HR functions within a private country club environment. This position assists with recruiting, employee engagement, and HR administrative tasks while maintaining confidentiality and delivering excellent customer service to employees and applicants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a friendly point of contact for employee and applicant inquiries via phone, email, and in-person visits.
  • Assist with scheduling interviews and coordinating candidate communications.
  • Support pre-employment activities, including background checks, employment verification, and reference checks.
  • Help prepare employee communications, including newsletters, announcements, and employee app content.
  • Assist with employee recognition programs, engagement initiatives, and special events.
  • Support HR recordkeeping by filing, scanning, and maintaining employee documentation.
  • Assist in preparing compliance postings, birthday recognitions, and service anniversary announcements.
  • Help maintain HR databases and employee records while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist with training sessions, meetings, and departmental projects.
  • Perform general administrative duties, including photocopying, data entry, and office organization.
  • Order and maintain office supplies as needed.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Communications, or a related field.
  • Previous administrative, customer service, or internship experience preferred but not required..

Language Skills

  • Bilingual English/Spanish and/or Creole is a plus.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to sit, speak, hear, and work at a computer.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and move throughout the property.
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office setting within a private country club environment. The noise level is typically moderate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
