Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled software development intern to produce applications built using Unreal Engine that will be used by internal and external customers. You will be helping to develop and deploy cutting-edge simulation tools for missile defense and hypersonic vehicle applications.

Responsibilities

Your duties will include developing frontend software applications using languages such as JavaScript, React, and Python.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Python, C++, React, or JavaScript.
  • Pursuing a degree related to Software Engineering (e.g., Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data/AI, or a related field), or equivalent practical experience
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to tackle computationally challenging design problems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Work in-person in Huntsville AL
  • Junior-level or higher student in good academic standing at an accredited college or university
  • Only U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance will be considered.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with mathematical, AI/ML, and data-processing libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
  • Familiarity with data visualization and analysis tools, including Jupyter, Matplotlib, Plotly, MATLAB, or Cesium.
  • Experience or strong interest in game development frameworks such as Unreal Engine, Unity, or Godot.
  • Experience or strong interest in single-page application development using tools and frameworks such as Node.js, Electron, Vite, and React, Vue, or Angular.
  • Familiarity with frontend design tools and UI frameworks, including Figma, Tailwind CSS, Material UI, Ant Design, or Bootstrap.
  • Experience or interest in reinforcement learning frameworks such as Stable Baselines3 (SB3), RLlib, or OpenAI Gym.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions).
  • Experience working in Linux environments (Debian- or RHEL-based distributions such as Ubuntu, Red Hat, or Rocky Linux) and cross-platform development tools (e.g., WSL, Git Bash).
  • Prior internship experience and/or a portfolio of personal or academic projects.
  • U.S. citizen with an active SECRET clearance
