Title: Senior Business Analyst

 

You'll Report To: Business Analysis Manager

 

The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for eliciting, analyzing, validating, specifying, verifying and managing needs of the business stakeholders, including executives, managers, subject matter experts, agents and end-users. The Senior Business Analyst will serve as the conduit between the business stakeholders and the IT development and design teams. The Senior Business Analyst will serve as a Subject Matter Expert to all areas of the business across different project teams, in addition to mentoring and providing guidance to other team members. 

• Elicits requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirement workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis and workflow analysis.
• Partners with stakeholders to gather and document technical requirements for Web API’s and Web Apps and explore potential solutions in collaboration with the Agile Delivery Team – can offer workarounds where determined.
• Assists in the development of test plans/test scenarios and provides support during business application testing to verify requirements ad business needs are fully implemented.
• Interprets stakeholder business needs and translates them into application (functional and non-functional) and operational requirements that improves the organization’s operating efficiencies and costs.
• Actively participate and support the delivery of business capabilities within an Agile framework (such as documenting or helping document user stories, acceptance criteria, root cause analysis, and provide effort estimates).
• Tracks outstanding issues, effort estimates, implementation timelines and works with the project delivery managers and release management team to plan implementation target dates.
• Interacts professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, subject matter experts, end-users and agents.
• Contributes to the overall growth and maturity of the Business Analysis function within the IT organization by engaging in collaborative and constructive discussions.
• Provides strategic services like feasibility studies and conceptual/logical data modeling.
• Documents and organizes Org API libraries.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Experience: 2-4 years of experience in the Property and Casualty Insurance industry required, with preference towards candidates who have 4-8 years of homeowners insurance experience in any function. In addition, 2-4 years of experience in a Business Analyst role or similar function is required. InsuranceNow or Guidewire experience is also preferred.

 

Skills:                   

• Advanced user – Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Experience in technical, business and process documentation required, with specific emphasis on Agile methodology.
• Ability to convert business requirements as Epics and technical stories in Jira Agile set-up.
• Good understanding and ability to read Json’s & Xml’s and able to work with Third Party Tools like Postman & SoapUI.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Visio, SQL querying and policy and claims administration software required.
• Experience in communicating with varied organizational tiers.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Presentation skills including delivery to varied organizational tiers.
• Ability to successfully collaborate in a team environment with multiple team members.
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, priority-shifting environment, while maintaining strong decision-making.

Schedule: 8:30-5:30pm Monday-Friday, in-office full-time. #LI-Onsite
 
Working Conditions: Normal business office environment.  Must be able to remain in a stationary position for periods of time while constantly operating a computer and or other office productivity machinery such as a calculator or telephone.  The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery or communicate with coworkers.
 
Travel: Minimum, as required.
