Job Summary

This position, under general supervision of the Cybersecurity Manager, is responsible for supporting cybersecurity initiatives within the Port. The intern will assist in maintaining cybersecurity systems, enhancing cybersecurity frameworks, and performing general tasks to support the cybersecurity team.
 
Essential Functions:

  • Enhance cybersecurity framework policies, procedures, and processes
  • Enhance and review cyber ecosystem (i.e. APIs, SOAR, SIEM)
  • Review and enhance vulnerability management system(s)
  • Support the preparation and formatting of cybersecurity-related reports, presentations, and internal communication materials.
  • Research emerging cybersecurity threats, best practices, and establish relationships with intelligence partners.
  • Implement and review defense in depth cyber controls to enhance infrastructure resiliency 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Adheres to Port policy and maintains good employee relations
  • Completes assigned tasks and works required hours/shifts fulfill Port objectives
  •  Performs other related duties as assigned
 
Additional Physical Factors:
While performing duties, the employee is regularly required to sit, speak or hear, use hand finger movements; occasionally required to stand, walk, reach stoop, kneel and lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
 
Environmental Factors:
General office and outdoor work environment.

Minimum Qualifications:
This is an internship position. Candidates shall be enrolled in an accredited college or university majoring in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field with demonstrated written and oral proficiency in the English language, proficiency in Spanish preferred. Strong writing, editing and graphic communication skills, organizational and time management skills; ability to operate a personal computer and a variety of programs, office equipment, and internet. Must deal effectively with the public and varying levels of management.
