The Events Manager will manage the overall vision and execution for all fundraising events. Responsible for the event budgets, marketing and communication and maintain event timelines. This position overseas 3 major events and numerous minor fundraising events throughout the year. Events are for both Hillsborough and Pinellas counties.
Primary Duties:
- Works with Chief Advancement Officer & event committees to establish overall vision & goals of events.
- Plan events from start to finish according to established goals and plans.
- Meet budgeted goals.
- Develop and implement ways to enhance each event’s success.
- Prepare budgets and ensure adherence to said budgets.
- Source and negotiate with vendors and suppliers.
- Work with Volunteer Manager to setup key event volunteers.
- Analyze the event’s planning and overall success and create pre/post-event reports.
- Work with Marketing Team on press releases, statements and elevate the visibility of The Humane Society of Tampa Bay in local media and social media
- Ensure the smooth operation of existing events; from planning stages and pulling together all event details for successful execution, through actual event completion and cleanup.
- Help market events in traditional and creative ways
- Evaluate events; create reports and analysis on all aspects of event, year to year and cumulative.
- Secures in kind donations for events.
- Develop innovative ideas and bring them to life at events within budget and a time frame.
- Multitask; coordinate numerous events at one time.
- Increase number of attendees and funds raised at events.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with vendors and attendees.
- Negotiate contracts and service agreements.
- Manage meetings and progress
- Attend and manage logistics on the day of the events.
Education and Experience Required:
- 4-year college degree (Bachelor’s) required, preferably in hotel/restaurant management, marketing or business administration.
