The ESE Self-Contained Special Education Teacher is responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with exceptional needs in a self-contained classroom setting. The teacher will develop students’ academic, behavioral, social, personal, and daily living skills while creating a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment. This position requires strong leadership, collaboration, organization, and communication skills. This position also requires toileting, restraining students as needed, and working to ensure the safety of students in the classroom.

Seminole County Public Schools uses the statewide screening database, Care Provider Clearinghouse to determine the eligibility of prospective employees. The Care Provider Clearinghouse is administered by the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) for background screening results for persons screened for employment or licensure that provide services to children, the elderly and disabled individuals. The Clearinghouse allows the results of criminal history checks to be shared among participating agencies, reducing duplication and costs; including more up to date information and on-line tracking of the screening process.
