JOB SUMMARY:

The Inventory Attendant supports Costume Fabrication operations by assisting with fabric and supply preparation, inventory tracking, and materials handling. This role focuses on learning inventory systems, fabric handling procedures, and production support while following established processes and safety standards under the guidance of leadership.    

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Fabric & Notions Preparation
    • Assist with preparing fabrics and notions for standard production projects based on approved Bills of Materials (BOMs) and pattern inventories as directed by Inventory Lead.
    • Support the washing and preparation of fabrics prior to the cutting phase, following established guidelines and direction from leadership.
    • Help locate, pull, and stage fabrics and notions for Fabrication Leads and production teams as requested.
    • Return fabrics and project supplies to correct storage locations after production is complete utilizing lifts and ladders as necessary.
  • Receiving & Inventory Processing
    • Assist with receiving shipments and documenting inventory for the Inventory Lead to track.
    • Inventory, roll, and label bulk bolts of received fabric on the fabric rolling table.
    • Label and store new inventory according to established inventory and SKU standards.
  • Inventory Control & Supply Support
    • Assist with cycle counts for general use notions, cleaning supplies, and other materials as assigned.
    • Help process replenishment requests via approved electronic systems.
    • Monitor inventory areas and alert leadership when supplies or equipment appear low, damaged, or disorganized.
    • Assist Inventory Lead with basic administrative tasks related to inventory tracking and documentation.
  • System & Documentation Support
    • Assist leadership with data entry and updates to costume Bills of Materials and inventory records in the SKU system, with close attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Fabrication Support
    • Provide fabrication assistance as assigned, supporting material preparation, hand sewing techniques, and basic operations of home sewing machines
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION: 

  • Technical school coursework or Associate’s Degree (AA) preferred but not required.

EXPERIENCE: 

  • Entry level role; prior costume, warehouse, inventory, or theatrical experience preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to learn inventory systems, fabric handling, and production processes.
